Philidelphia Eagles tackle Jason Peters missed most of 2012 after suffering an injury to his Achilles tendon. Arguably the best left tackle before the injury, Peter says if he can’t play like he did before the injury, he will retire.
The injury didn’t set me back at all. I’m out there, and I am going to play just like I have been playing,” Peters said, via the Delaware County Daily Times. “If not, I’ll just hang the helmet up.”
Now before Eagles’ fans start to worry, Peters has said he feels like he is at %100 percent and he does claim the injury didn’t set him back at all.
He even has teammates saying that he looks as good as before. Left guard Evan Mathis on Peters.
It looks like he has never been through an Achilles injury to me,” left guard Evan Mathis said. “He was at his true form. If you know football at all, you would see that yourself. He looks great. He looks phenomenal
Achilles injuries used to be considered as serious as ACL injuries. It is not an injury that should be taken lightly. That won’t stop Peters from giving 110 percent effort however and for an offensive line that was considered amongst the worst in the league, the Eagles will definitely need Peters.
