No one knows who’s going to be the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles this season. Not even DeSean Jackson, no matter what he might tell you.
Quarterback Nick Foles was asked by 24/7 Birds if he felt he was being underestimated in the competition. While Foles could of taken the bait that Jackson has been feeding off of this off season, Foles decided to take the high road instead by praising Michael Vick.
I have all the respect in the world for Mike,” Foles said. “I’m going to go out there every day and prove myself and work hard. I’m just going to approach it like I’ve done since I was a kid. I’m just going to go out there and demand the best of myself and push myself to get better. But at the end of the day, I’m not here to be a backup. I’m here to be the guy
Foles was also asked what he thought about Jackson’s comments saying he thought Vick would eventually win the competition to which Foles once again chose the high road.
No, it doesn’t bother me. I love DeSean,” Foles said. “I don’t worry about it. There is nothing to worry about. I just go out there and play. I’m going to play to the best of my ability and I know DeSean, no matter what, is going to play his butt off for whoever the quarterback is. And it’s as simple as that.
It’s great to see the maturity Foles displayed by choosing the high road. Let’s just be happy it’s not the same “high-road” Von Miller has been taking.
