The quarterback competition in Philadelphia now looks to be between Michael Vick and Nick Foles.
In the Eagles preseason game against the Patriots however, Vick got the start and ran with it. He completed 4 of 5 passes for 94 yards and a touchdown, including a 47 yard touchdown strike to Desean Jackson on a perfectly thrown ball. Vick looked decisive and elusive, scrambling when he needed to and finding open receivers downfield.
Foles also played well, leading an impressive scoring drive mostly in a hurry-up offense that culminated in a touchdown run by Bryce Brown. While Foles didn’t throw for a touchdown, he did complete 5 of 6 for 43 yards.
So while Vick and Foles each led scoring drives, the long touchdown pass to Desean Jackson was the difference in play between the two quarterbacks, giving Vick the edge.
